चिकित्सा क्षेत्र में नए नवाचार' पर प्रदर्शनी-सह-संगोष्ठी

Shri Deepak Kumar, IAS, Director General, ESI Corporation inaugurated the Exhibition-cum-Seminar on ‘New Innovations in the Medical Field’ at ESIC’s National Training Academy, Dwarka, New Delhi on 23.04.2016. This exhibition was a unique platform in which a large nos. of Exhibitors from Medical equipments & manufacturing sectors and Pharmaceutical companies etc. participated and exhibited their new and innovative products of the medical field. Besides this, Senior Medical Officers/Medical Superintendents of ESIC Hospitals also actively participated in the exhibition with a view to implement such latest knowhow in ESIC Hospitals.

The Medical Superintendents of ESIC Hospitals also presented about the new innovations/ideas of medical treatment being provided in their respective Hospitals. This Exhibition-cum-Seminar on ‘New Innovations in the Medical Field’ is the brain child of Shri Deepak Kumar, Director General, ESIC. While inaugurating the Exhibition-cum-Seminar, Shri Deepak Kumar, Director General said that ESI Corporation is committed to provide the best possible services to India’s largest workforce so that they are healthy and productive; and are able to give their best for the development of our national economy.

For this very objective, we are exploring the latest innovations in the medical field so that we can introduce them in our Medical Institutions for the health care of Insured Persons and their families.

He also said that we have to fulfill the aspirations of Insured Persons by providing them satisfactory medical treatment. Shri Deepak Kumar also urged all the participating doctors of ESIC to think and implement new innovations for delivering the best medical treatments to the IPs. It is also mentioned here that ESIC has introduced many new initiatives and innovations in the field of medical care in the recent past. Some of the initiatives are as under:- • Online availability of Electronic Health Record of ESI Beneficiaries (Insured Persons and their family members) • Abhiyan Indradhanush : Ensuring the change of bedsheet daily according to VIBGYOR pattern • Medical Helpline No. 1800 11 3839 for emergency and seeking guidance from casualty/emergency of ESIC Hospitals. • Special OPD for Sr. Citizens and differently-abled persons in ESIC hospitals. • Starting of ‘May I Help You’ counter in every ESIC Hospitals. • Proper ‘Queue Management System’ in all ESIC Hospitals.

ESI Scheme in India The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation is a pioneer Social Security organization providing comprehensive social security benefits like complete Medical Care and a range of Cash Benefits in times of need such as employment injury, sickness, death etc. The ESI Act applies to premises/precincts where 10 or more persons are employed. The employees drawing wages up to Rs. 15,000/- a month are entitled to health insurance cover and other benefits, under the ESI Act. The Act now applies to over 7.23 lakh factories and establishments across the country, benefiting about 2.03 crores family units of workers. As of now, the total beneficiary population of ESI Scheme stands over 7.89 crores. Ever since its inception in 1952, the ESI Corporation has, so far, set up 151 Hospitals, 1459/188 Dispensaries / ISM Units, 812 Branch/Pay Offices and 61 Regional & Sub-Regional/Divisional Offices.
