ESIC gets award for best autonomous body (Central Government) under ‘India Pride Award

The ESI Corporation received the ‘India Pride Award’ for the best autonomous body category. The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India is a pioneer social security organization providing medical and cash benefits in the exigencies of sickness, maternity, disablement, death, employment injury and unemployment to the workers in the lower wage bracket and their family members.
This award has been bestowed upon ESIC in recognition to its new initiatives of health reforms agenda ESIC2.0, which has improved the medical and health services of ESIC and expanded its social security net since it was launched in July, 2015 by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. ESIC has taken numerous initiatives for furthering the goal of social security to the Indian working class under Shri Deepak Kumar, Director General, ESIC.
The award was given by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Communication and Information Technology Minister, Govt. of India. The award was received by Shri R.K. Gautam, Jt. Director(PR), ESIC on behalf of the Director General of the organization. The award is instituted by the ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ newspaper group.
