Herbal Gardens to Be Established in Homeopathic Ayushman Arogya Mandirs
The AYUSH Department is planning to create herbal gardens in 103 Homeopathic Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the state, with a proposal already sent to the Ministry of AYUSH for approval. These gardens will feature medicinal plants like Giloy, Shatavari, Ashwagandha, and Aloe Vera, among others. Along with planting these herbs, the initiative will also focus on educating people about their medicinal properties and health benefits.
Under this scheme, dispensaries of homeopathy, Ayurveda, and Unani medicine are being transformed into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. The Ministry of AYUSH is providing financial assistance for this transformation. A total of 1,034 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are being developed in the state, including 592 Ayurveda centres, 393 homeopathy centres, and 49 Unani treatment centres. Among the 393 homeopathic dispensaries, 103 will have dedicated herbal gardens.
The initiative aims to promote awareness about herbal medicine and its therapeutic uses. For the establishment of each herbal garden, a budget of ₹20,000 has been proposed. The authorities have also requested details from district homeopathic officers about dispensaries that have additional space suitable for such gardens.
In addition to this, the Ayush Mission Uttar Pradesh has submitted a comprehensive proposal to the Ministry of AYUSH to appoint community health officers and ASHA workers for outreach, awareness, and other promotional activities in 1,034 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. The total proposed budget for this project is ₹4.17 lakh.
