Mass Yoga Practice in Avantika Spreads Message of Harmony, Health, and Civic Responsibility
With the inspiring theme Yoga for One Earth, One Health, the 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and community spirit on Friday at Mahavir Dayanand Park, Avantika Colony.
The event was organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kavi Nagar Mandal and BJP Ghaziabad Mahanagar Energy Cell. The celebrations saw vibrant participation by scores of women, men, senior citizens, and children from the colony, who came together early in the morning to perform yoga asanas and pranayama exercises on colorful mats laid across the park grounds.
The program was led by BJP Energy Cell Mahanagar Co-Convener Satendra Singh, who emphasized that yoga should be embraced as an indispensable part of daily life for holistic well-being. He highlighted that regular yoga practice not only improves physical health but also enhances mental peace and emotional resilience, qualities that are vital for serving society and the nation effectively.
In his address, Singh said:
“Yoga unites the body, mind, and spirit. It is not merely an exercise but a spiritual discipline that fosters inner strength and collective harmony. On International Yoga Day, we reaffirm our commitment to make yoga accessible and a natural part of everyone’s daily routine.”
The event was coordinated with active support from Udayam Samiti President Satendra Singh and Ward 56 Councillor Manoj Tyagi, both of whom played important roles in mobilizing community participation.
Arya Samaj Avantika President Ved Prakash Tomar conducted the main yoga session, guiding participants through a series of foundational asanas, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. To ensure inclusive engagement, a special session for women was led by Vidushi Prabha Singhania, who explained the unique benefits of yoga for women’s health and stress management.
Senior citizen Rajkumar Sisodia expressed gratitude to all participants, acknowledging their enthusiasm and discipline. He remarked that such collective programs help strengthen social bonds and promote a spirit of cooperation among residents.
ARWA General Secretary Dharmveer Sharma addressed the gathering, stressing the critical importance of health awareness in contemporary life. He called upon everyone to practice yoga every day, emphasizing that preventive health and fitness are key to building a robust society.
At the close of the event, as a symbolic gesture towards environmental conservation, ten Sindoor tree saplings were planted in Shastri Nagar Udyan Vatika and Avantika Park. Participants took an oath to protect green spaces and maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, demonstrating their commitment to civic responsibility.
