New Greenfield Corridor to Cut Noida Airport–Faridabad Travel Time to 15 Minutes

The Central Government has approved a major infrastructure project aimed at significantly improving connectivity to Noida International Airport, with a new 31.42-kilometre greenfield corridor set to reduce travel time between Faridabad and Jewar to just 15 minutes.

The project, which has been sanctioned at a revised cost of approximately ₹3,630.77 crore, is expected to play a key role in strengthening regional mobility and enhancing access to one of North India’s most strategically important upcoming aviation hubs.

Faster Connectivity for NCR and Beyond

The proposed corridor will run along the Delhi–Faridabad–Ballabhgarh section of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, extending onward toward Noida International Airport. Once completed, the new route is expected to transform travel patterns in the National Capital Region (NCR) by creating a much faster and more direct link between Faridabad, Greater Noida and Jewar.

At present, travel between Faridabad and the airport region takes considerably longer due to indirect road connectivity and congestion. The upcoming corridor is expected to provide a streamlined route that will not only cut travel time drastically but also ease pressure on existing road networks.

Multi-Expressway Integration Planned

According to project details, the corridor will begin near the Sector 65 area of Faridabad, connecting from the link road to the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway. It will then integrate with several major transport arteries, including the:

  • Eastern Peripheral Expressway
  • Yamuna Expressway
  • Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC)

This multi-point integration is expected to make the route particularly significant from a logistics and transport planning perspective, allowing seamless movement of both passengers and goods across key industrial and urban zones.

Elevated Section to Improve Traffic Flow

A substantial portion of the proposed road—around 11 kilometres—will reportedly be built as an elevated corridor. This section is expected to form a crucial new connection between the DND–Ballabhgarh Bypass and Noida International Airport, offering uninterrupted movement and reducing dependency on slower, surface-level traffic routes.

The elevated segment is likely to be especially beneficial in handling high-volume traffic and ensuring efficient travel between urban clusters and the airport zone.

Shared Investment Model

The estimated cost of the elevated corridor component is said to be approximately ₹689.24 crore, with the Haryana Government expected to contribute around ₹450 crore toward the project. This indicates a coordinated inter-governmental effort to improve infrastructure that will benefit multiple states and economic corridors.

Strategic Boost for Regional Mobility

Beyond reducing travel time between Faridabad and Jewar, the corridor is also expected to improve accessibility for travelers and industries located in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Haryana and Rajasthan. This will be especially significant once Noida International Airport becomes fully operational and begins serving as a major aviation and cargo gateway.

The corridor is likely to support not only passenger convenience but also industrial growth, supply-chain efficiency and investment opportunities across adjoining regions.

Important Step Toward Airport-Led Development

The approval of this corridor reflects the broader strategy of building airport-led economic and transport infrastructure around the Noida International Airport project. Improved road access is considered essential for ensuring that the airport functions as a high-capacity regional and national transit hub.

As the airport ecosystem continues to expand, projects such as this greenfield corridor are expected to play a crucial role in unlocking the full economic and logistical potential of the region.

Once completed, the new route could emerge as one of the most important connectivity links in the NCR, offering a faster, smarter and more integrated travel option for commuters, businesses and logistics operators alike.
