Upload Full Orders on Website, Not Just Summaries: Allahabad High Court Directs Education Officers
The Allahabad High Court has directed all District Education Officers in Uttar Pradesh to upload complete court orders on their official websites rather than just summaries or brief extracts. The Court emphasized that incomplete uploads are affecting the rights of concerned parties and delaying justice.
The bench, led by Justice Saurabh Srivastava, issued this directive while hearing a plea regarding the non-compliance of orders by the Basic Education Department. The petitioner alleged that many districts only upload “partial or summarized versions” of orders, making it difficult for applicants to understand or implement the directives.
The Court stated that all education authorities must upload entire orders within 72 hours of issuance. In the case of non-compliance, the affected party has the right to approach the Court again for enforcement.
Key Highlights from the Court’s Remarks:
- Summaries are not a substitute for the full judicial text.
- This practice is obstructing justice and causing unnecessary litigation.
- In a specific case, the Court imposed a fine of ₹2,000 on the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Bareilly for failing to upload a full order despite repeated directives.
The ruling aims to promote transparency and accountability within the state’s education administration. The Basic Education Secretary has also been directed to ensure compliance with this new mandate in all future cases.
