₹90 Crore Plan for Beautification of Kalikhoh and Ashtabhuja Temples
A proposal worth ₹90 crore has been prepared for the beautification and development of the Kalikhoh and Ashtabhuja temples, aiming to enhance facilities for devotees and improve overall infrastructure in the area. The plan is currently awaiting government approval, after which construction work is expected to begin.
The redevelopment project focuses on transforming the temple corridorsinto a well-organized and aesthetically developed space. A major highlight of the proposal is the widening of the road leading to the temples. The existing road is being expanded to a width of approximately 35 to 45 feet, which will significantly ease the movement of pilgrims and reduce congestion, especially during peak seasons.
The beautification plan includes structural improvements, better landscaping, and the development of essential amenities to accommodate the increasing number of visitors. Both temples will undergo renovation work to enhance their appearance while maintaining their religious and cultural significance.
The proposal was initially sent by the administration during the current financial year and is expected to receive approval soon. Once approved, the construction and beautification work of both temples will commence in phases.
These temples attract a large number of devotees throughout the year. It is estimated that around 5,000 to 10,000 pilgrims visit daily, with numbers rising significantly during festivals such as Navratri. Devotees from different parts of the country and abroad visit to offer prayers and seek blessings.
Officials associated with the project have stated that the development will not only improve the pilgrimage experience but also promote religious tourism in the region. The initiative is expected to provide better facilities, smoother access, and a more organized environment for visitors.
The proposed project reflects a broader effort to upgrade important religious sites by combining infrastructure development with preservation of spiritual heritage.
