Budapest, Agency: After the Indian men's team, the women's team also made history by winning a gold medal on Sunday in the 45th Chess Olympiad. This is the first time both teams have won gold in this prestigious championship together.

Grandmasters D. Gukesh and Arjun Erigaisi helped the men's team to victory in their 11th and final match against Slovenia, defeating them 3.5-0.5. The women's team, led by Divya Deshmukh, beat Azerbaijan 3.5-0.5, securing a historic win for India in the women's category as well.

While addressing the Indian community in America on Sunday night, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed pride in the team's victory. He praised the players, saying, "Your talent and team's hard work have created history, winning two golds for India."

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi also congratulated the players for their achievements. Kharge remarked, "Your skill and team effort have written a new chapter in history, as India secured two gold medals."
