India Becomes the 'King of Asia' in Hockey for the Fifth Time
The Indian hockey team, which recently won back-to-back silver medals at the Paris Olympics, defeated China 1-0 on Tuesday to win the Asian Champions Trophy title, maintaining their dominance. This is the fifth time India has won this prestigious trophy. Throughout the tournament, India showcased its skill and played like a champion team, winning all their matches. The Indian team, which started its victorious campaign by defeating China 3-0, also concluded its campaign with a win against the same team.
In the final, neither team could score a goal during the first three quarters, but in the last quarter, India's Gurjant Singh scored a field goal in the 51st minute, securing the win for the team. This was the second time China reached the final of an international tournament, having defeated Pakistan in the semifinals. India, too, entered the final after defeating Pakistan in the semifinals. China finished as runners-up for the second time in the Asian Champions Trophy.
Outstanding Performances and Awards
Harmanpreet Singh, captain of the Indian team, was named the Player of the Tournament, while Jugraj Singh's goal in the final sealed India's victory. The tournament's top goal-scorer was Korea's Jang Jongh Yun, who scored the most goals. China's Wang Kean was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament.

Dubai – The ICC has decided that the prize money for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup will be equal to that of the Men's T20 World Cup. The ICC has set the total prize money for the Women's T20 World Cup at ₹19 crore.
