Portugal Beats Spain to Win UEFA Nations League 2025
Portugal has won the UEFA Nations League 2025 after a dramatic final match against Spain held in Munich. The game ended in a 2–2 draw after extra time, and Portugal won 5–3 in the penalty shootout.
Spain had taken an early lead with goals from Martín Zubimendi and Mikel Oyarzabal. But Portugal made a strong comeback with goals from Nuno Mendes and star player Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo scored his 138th international goal before leaving the field due to injury in the 88th minute.
In the penalty shootout, Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa made a key save, while all Portuguese players scored their penalties. Spain missed one penalty, giving Portugal the win.
This is Portugal’s second UEFA Nations League title—the first was in 2019. Nuno Mendes was named Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance.
