Veteran Shooter and Renowned Coach Jaspal Rana Pass Away

Veteran shooter and renowned shooting coach Jaspal Rana passed away at Max Hospital after suffering a medical emergency while returning to India from Germany. His demise has caused deep grief in India’s sporting community.

 

According to the report, Rana had travelled to Germany to participate in the Shooting Federation World Cup, held in Munich from 24 to 31 May. While returning to India with the Indian team after the tournament, his health suddenly deteriorated during the flight. He reportedly experienced difficulty in breathing while on the aircraft.

 

After the flight landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, he was immediately taken to Max Hospital in Saket for medical treatment. Hospital authorities stated that the 49-year-old Rana died due to cardiac arrest.

 

The hospital management further informed that Rana had suffered three heart attacks before returning from Munich. His family took his mortal remains to his ancestral home in Dehradun.

 

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over Rana’s passing and extended condolences to his family, admirers and the sports fraternity.
