After 47 Years, MSME Industrial Areas Will Now Be Developed; Plots to Be Allotted Through E-Auction

After a gap of 47 years, the state of Uttar Pradesh will now develop industrial areas dedicated to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The state cabinet has approved the MSME Industrial Area Management Policy, which will facilitate the establishment of MSME parks in different districts.

Allocation of Plots Through E-Auction

MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan said that since 1978, no new industrial areas had been developed for MSMEs in the state. Now, under the new policy, land plots will be allotted transparently through an online portal and e-auction system.

  • For plots up to 2,000 square meters, allotments will start at ₹2,500 per square meter.
  • For larger plots, rates will be between ₹2,500–₹3,000 per square meter, depending on the district.

The government has prepared around 765 acres of land in 12 districts, where these MSME clusters will come up.

Benefits for Entrepreneurs

The government will provide entrepreneurs with necessary facilities such as roads, electricity, water supply, and common service centers. In addition, special attention will be given to setting up logistics hubs, warehouses, and flatted factories.

Reservation for SC/ST Entrepreneurs

As per the new policy, 10% reservation in allotment will be given to entrepreneurs from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). Applications for allotments will be accepted online only, making the entire process transparent.

Commercial and Residential Allotments

Besides industrial use, provision has also been made for residential and commercial plots within the new clusters. The government has fixed guidelines for building sheds and warehouses to support business operations.

The minister confirmed that the first round of allotment will begin within the next two months, ensuring speedy implementation of the new policy.
