Approval for the Merger of Viacom 18 and Star India

UV INDIA NEWS:  The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved the merger plan of Viacom 18 Media, owned by Reliance Industries, with Star India. Viacom 18 is the holding company for the Viacom 18 group's media and entertainment assets.

A two-member bench of the NCLT has approved the joint arrangement plan between Viacom 18, Digital 18, and the global media giant Walt Disney’s Star India.

This development comes two days after the Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved the merger of media assets between Reliance Industries and Walt Disney Company.
