Child Labour Education Scheme to Be Implemented Across All Districts

The state government has begun implementing a comprehensive action plan aimed at making the state free of child labour by the year 2027. Work has already commenced under the State Action Plan, with the first phase targeting eight districts—Bahraich, Balrampur, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, and Sonbhadra—along with Kanpur and Deoria, to be declared child labour-free by December 2026.

As part of this initiative, the government has decided to roll out the “Child Labour Education Scheme” across all 75 districts of the state. The scheme focuses on ensuring that children engaged in labour are rescued, rehabilitated, and provided with access to education and skill development.

In addition, a new mobile app and software will be developed to enhance monitoring and supervision of the scheme’s implementation. These digital tools will enable real-time tracking of rescued children, progress of their education, and overall effectiveness of the program.

Officials have emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to eradicating child labour through a combination of strict enforcement, rehabilitation, and educational support, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment.
