Employment Scheme: Registration on Portal Only If UAN is Active
The Central Government on September 2, 2024, launched the portal for the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana. At the event, Union Labour and Employment Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya announced that only employees with an active UAN (Universal Account Number) will be able to register on the portal to avail benefits under this scheme.
Objective of the Scheme
The scheme has two main components:
- Employee Benefit – New employees receiving their first job will be provided financial assistance.
- Employer Incentive – Companies that create new employment opportunities will receive benefits.
This will help both unemployed youth and employers. The scheme will run till 31 July 2027.
Eligibility
- Only unemployed youth aged 18–30 years will be eligible.
- For women and specially-abled candidates, the age limit is 18–35 years.
- Employment must be in an organization covered under EPF provisions.
Benefits for Youth
- On getting their first job, a youth will receive ₹15,000 financial support.
- A portion of the monthly salary will be deposited into their PF account.
- If the salary is up to ₹15,000, the government will pay both employer’s and employee’s PF contributions.
- If the salary is ₹15,000–₹21,000, only the employee’s PF contribution will be covered.
Company Conditions
- Companies with less than 50 employees must hire at least 2 new workers.
- Companies with 50–100 employees must hire at least 3 new workers.
- Those who hire more than the minimum requirement will receive additional incentives of ₹3,000 per employee.
- Employers will also receive benefits under the EPF Act, 1952.
Registration Process via Umang App
- Open the Umang app and select the PMVBRY option.
- Enter Aadhaar and mobile details to generate an OTP.
- Once verified, upload documents and complete e-KYC.
- After this, registration can also be done via the portal
