EPFO Settles Over 50% of Claims in Just Three Days This Financial Year

 

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) processed 68.96 lakh claims between April 1 and June 5, 2025, clearing more than 50% of them within just three days.

 

Officials said the majority of these claims involved monetary disbursement. A senior officer reported that in the current financial year 2024–25 alone, nearly 2.34 crore claims have already been settled, reflecting a settlement rate of around 39%.

To further improve efficiency, EPFO plans to soon increase the auto-claim settlement limit from the existing ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh. According to the officials, this enhancement will allow faster processing of claims without the need for approval from the supervisory body (SAC).

 

At present, claims up to ₹50,000 are settled through the automatic mode, which has significantly reduced processing time for members.
