ESIC Medical College to Open in Greater Noida
The government has decided to establish a new Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical college in Greater Noida and Varanasi. The facility will provide advanced treatment and modern healthcare services to insured workers.
In this series of initiatives, the government has also approved the construction of six new ESIC hospitals in Gorakhpur and Greater Noida. The Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority have allotted land for these projects.
According to officials, the state government has been working to expand health services for industrial workers. Under the ESIC scheme, insured workers currently receive primary and secondary care, super-specialty treatment, and cashless services.
At present, ESIC has partnerships with 109 private hospitals across the state for cashless treatment. In addition to the new medical college projects, construction of new ESIC hospitals is already underway in Meerut, Shahjahanpur, and Bareilly.
Further, plans are being prepared to establish 12 additional hospitals across the state to strengthen the healthcare network for workers.
