ESIC Recruits 451 Non-Recommended UPSC Candidates Through Pratibha Portal
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has recruited 451 doctors for its hospitals and medical facilities through the Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) Pratibha talent pool. This platform, launched by UPSC, connects meritorious candidates who cleared the written exams of various UPSC recruitment processes but did not make it to the final recommended list, with prospective employers seeking qualified professionals.
The UPSC Pratibha portal, short for Professional Recruitment for Training in Bharat, serves as a bridge between skilled candidates and employers, including central public sector undertakings (PSUs), autonomous bodies, and government organizations.
The recruitment drive focused on non-recommended candidates from the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) held in 2022 and 2023. These candidates, despite qualifying the written exams, had not been included in UPSC’s final selection list. ESIC, operating under the Union Ministry of Labour, accessed the list and selected suitable candidates after conducting interviews.
Minister of State for Personnel Dr. Jitendra Singh stated that many of these candidates had been engaged in coaching roles for UPSC aspirants but now have the opportunity to serve in government medical institutions. He emphasized that the initiative benefits both candidates and employers by bridging the gap between talent availability and recruitment needs.
The Pratibha portal also includes candidates from other competitive exams such as the Civil Services Examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Examination, and Indian Statistical Service Examination.
With integration into the National Career Service portal, employers can now access the database and recruit candidates efficiently using built-in software tools. The initiative is being hailed as a landmark in optimizing human resource utilization in public services.
