Government Scheme “SFURTI” to Support Handicrafts, Khadi, and Similar Industries with Assistance Up to ₹8 Crore

 

The Ministry of MSME launched the Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) in 2005 to promote traditional sectors such as handicrafts, khadi, rural industries, coir, bamboo products, honey, textiles, and pottery. The scheme aims to modernize traditional industries, make them competitive, and generate sustainable livelihoods.

 

Support Categories Based on Cluster Size

Government assistance under SFURTI depends on the size of the cluster and the number of artisans:

  1. Mini Cluster
    • Up to 500 artisans
    • Eligible for assistance up to ₹2.5 crore
  2. Major Cluster
    • 500 to 1,000 artisans
    • Eligible for assistance up to ₹5 crore
  3. Heritage Cluster
    • 1,000 to 2,500 artisans
    • Eligible for assistance up to ₹8 crore

 

Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants include artisans and small enterprises engaged in traditional sectors like khadi, handicrafts, bamboo, coir, pottery, honey, and textiles. Non-profit organizations (NGOs), central and state government institutions, and agencies working in these sectors can also apply.

 

Applicants must submit proposals with accurate details and register on the SFURTI portal to access funding support.
