Government to Offer Subsidy and Monthly Assistance for Hiring Divyang Employees

In a significant move to promote inclusive employment, the government has announced a new subsidy scheme aimed at encouraging industries to hire local and specially-abled (Divyang) workers. Under the initiative, industrial units investing between ₹10 lakh and ₹10 crore will be eligible for a 25% subsidy on their investment, helping boost job creation and industrial growth.

EPF Contribution Support for Hiring Local Workers

Industrial establishments that hire 50 or more local employees will receive government support for their Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) contributions. This benefit will continue for five years, significantly reducing the financial burden on employers and motivating them to create more local employment opportunities.

₹1,500 Monthly Support per Divyang Employee

To further promote the inclusion of specially-abled individuals in the workforce, the government will offer ₹1,500 per month per Divyang employee as direct financial assistance to companies employing them. This scheme is part of a broader effort to improve employment prospects for people with disabilities and integrate them into mainstream economic activities.

The scheme is expected to benefit industries across multiple sectors, providing dual incentives — financial support for workforce expansion and additional aid for inclusive hiring practices. Experts believe this initiative will not only generate new employment opportunities but also strengthen social responsibility and diversity in the workplace.
