India’s Textile Exports Expected to Surpass Expectations

Despite concerns over U.S. tariffs and global trade restrictions, India’s textile exports are projected to remain strong and even exceed expectations, according to Textiles Secretary Neelam Shami Rao. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Ministry of Textiles, she emphasized that India is well-positioned to expand its global market presence.
Government’s Focus on Strengthening the Textile Industry
The Indian government has been actively promoting investments in the textile sector through budget incentives and policy support. Several top textile-producing countries, including India, China, and Bangladesh, are expected to dominate global production. The government is also working on initiatives to enhance technology adoption and boost exports.
Bharat Mandapam to Host Major Exhibition and App Launch
The upcoming Bharat Mandapam exhibition will showcase:
• Advanced machinery and equipment used in the textile industry, including weaving, dyeing, and finishing technology.
• Home furnishings, handicrafts, and other textile-related products on a large scale.
A dedicated mobile app for India Tex will also be launched during the event. The app will provide real-time updates about exhibitors, buyers, and attendees, offering a seamless experience for participants.
India Tex 2025: A Global Textile Hub Initiative
The government is organizing the India Tex 2025 event from February 14 to 17, aimed at promoting India’s textile industry globally. The event will feature:
• Participation from over 120 countries and five leading textile-exporting nations.
• Attendance of more than 600 international buyers and 1.2 lakh visitors.
• Representation from 11 major textile industry associations.
Launch of ‘Indiasign’ for Branding Indian Textiles
A new initiative, ‘Indiasign’, will be unveiled to establish India as a global leader in textile design and branding. The goal is to strengthen Indian domestic and international brands, increasing their presence in high-demand markets.
With these efforts, India is set to enhance its textile exports, attract foreign investment, and boost domestic manufacturing, reinforcing its position as a global textile hub.
