Monthly Exposure Visits Being Organised for Students of Atal Residential Schools: Deputy Labour Commissioner Anurag Mishra
A meeting of the Mandal-level Committee constituted for the operation and supervision of Atal Residential Schools was convened under the chairmanship of the Divisional Commissioner of Meerut. The session focused on reviewing compliance with earlier directives and assessing progress in strengthening educational facilities for eligible students.
During the meeting, Deputy Labour Commissioner Anurag Mishra informed the committee that students enrolled in Atal Residential Schools are being provided monthly exposure visits as part of a structured enrichment initiative. The programme is designed to broaden students’ perspectives and enhance their scientific and practical understanding through experiential learning.
It was explained that under this initiative, two students from each Atal Residential School—one boy and one girl—are selected for exposure visits. These visits include educational tours to prominent institutions and organizations, including facilities of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bengaluru, with the objective of fostering scientific curiosity and career awareness among students.
The committee reviewed expenditures incurred under various heads since the previous meeting and approved the allocations after due deliberation. Updates were also presented regarding infrastructure development, including facility management, information technology, and furniture provisions. The Divisional Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining quality standards and ensuring that all resources are utilized effectively for students’ benefit.
The meeting further addressed preparations for the admission process for the academic session 2026–27. Authorities were directed to conduct a comprehensive awareness drive to ensure that eligible children of registered workers are informed about the admission process. The last date for submission of applications has been fixed as February 15, 2026, and officials were instructed to coordinate with development blocks and municipal bodies to maximize outreach and participation.
It was also directed that students be taken on educational visits to institutions such as the Prime Minister’s Museum, the National Museum, and art galleries to help them gain exposure to India’s cultural and historical heritage. The objective is to provide holistic education that integrates academic learning with cultural and scientific exposure.
Senior officials, including the District Magistrate of Bulandshahr, the Chief Development Officer, the Deputy Labour Commissioner of Meerut, and other committee members, participated in the meeting and contributed to discussions on strengthening the functioning of Atal Residential Schools across the division.
