Noida Among Six Cities Continuing Strong Export Performance

Noida has continued to maintain its strong position in exports, with the latest figures showing that six major cities, including Noida, remain among the leading export centres of Uttar Pradesh.

 

Smartphones, garments, cotton fabric and synthetic textiles are among the major products contributing to the export performance of these cities. According to export data, Noida, Moradabad, Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Aligarh and Bhadohi have retained their place among the top ten exporting districts of the state.

 

Noida remains at the top of the list and has recorded further growth in exports. In the financial year 2024–25, Noida’s exports stood at ₹95,966 crore. This increased to ₹97,703 crore in the financial year 2025–26, reflecting a rise of ₹1,737 crore.

 

Moradabad, known for its brassware and handicraft exports, has also continued its strong performance. The city recorded exports worth ₹15,217 crore in 2024–25, which increased to ₹18,728 crore in 2025–26. This shows a significant increase of ₹3,511 crore, placing Moradabad among the major growth centres in the state’s export sector.

 

Kanpur Nagar has also secured its position in the export rankings. Exports from Kanpur Nagar increased from ₹10,587 crore in 2024–25 to ₹10,823 crore in 2025–26. The city is recognised for leather, footwear, garments, hosiery and other industrial products.

 

Agra, which is widely known for leather footwear and related products, recorded exports worth ₹7,691 crore in 2024–25. This rose to ₹8,907 crore in 2025–26. The growth reflects the continued demand for Agra’s traditional export products in domestic and international markets.

 

Aligarh also registered improvement in export performance. Its exports increased from ₹7,348 crore in 2024–25 to ₹8,253 crore in 2025–26. The city is known for locks, hardware and metal-based products, which continue to contribute to its export value.

 

Bhadohi, famous for carpets and rugs, also showed growth. Exports from Bhadohi increased from ₹5,189 crore in 2024–25 to ₹6,162 crore in 2025–26. The carpet industry remains a major source of export earnings for the district.

 

Unnao, Amroha and Sambhal have also strengthened their positions in the export sector. Unnao’s exports rose from ₹5,030 crore to ₹5,569 crore, while Amroha’s exports increased from ₹2,867 crore to ₹2,825 crore as per the reported table. Sambhal, which was earlier at ₹2,449 crore in 2024–25, recorded exports worth ₹3,521 crore in 2025–26.

 

According to the data, Gautam Buddha Nagar is expected to further improve its export performance in the ongoing financial year. With the continued export of mobile phones, garments, cotton fabrics, synthetic textiles and electronics-related products, the district is likely to remain a major contributor to the state’s export growth.

 

A major factor behind Noida’s strong export performance is the presence of large manufacturing and export-oriented units. Several companies involved in mobile phone manufacturing, electronics, garments and industrial components operate in the district. Their production and export activities have helped Noida retain the top position in the state’s export chart.

 

Ghaziabad has also recorded strong growth and has improved its position in the export rankings. The district is known for engineering goods, metal products, medicines, pharmaceutical components and other industrial items. Its export value increased significantly, indicating a positive trend for industries in the region.

 

Lucknow is also expected to gain a better position in exports. In the previous year, Lucknow had entered the top 15 list by increasing its export value to ₹1,773 crore and securing the 13th position. The city is known for Chikankari, Zardozi and readymade garments. With the development of a textile corridor, the export of clothes and related products from Lucknow is expected to increase further.

 

The overall export trend suggests that Uttar Pradesh’s industrial districts are steadily strengthening their presence in national and international markets. Noida continues to lead the state’s export economy, while cities such as Moradabad, Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Aligarh, Bhadohi, Ghaziabad and Lucknow are also playing an important role in expanding the state’s export base.
