New Delhi: The man who revolutionized the Indian car market with the launch of the iconic Maruti 800, Osamu Suzuki, passed away on December 25 at the age of 94. The announcement of his demise was made by Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, on Friday, stating that he was suffering from lymphoma.


In 1981, Osamu Suzuki partnered with the Indian government to establish Maruti Udyog Limited, marking a historic collaboration. Suzuki's vision and trust in India led him to make a significant investment that transformed the Indian automobile industry.
