Rakesh Kumar Singh Appointed New CEO of YEIDA, Known for Effective Working Style

To maintain the momentum of development in the Yamuna Authority region, the Uttar Pradesh government has appointed IAS officer Rakesh Kumar Singh (R.K. Singh) as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Alongside this responsibility, he has also been given charge as CEO of Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority and Noida International Airport Limited.

Rakesh Kumar Singh is recognized for his proactive approach and decisive style of administration. Previously, during his tenure in the revenue department, he resolved thousands of pending files and digitized land records.

As City Magistrate and Additional District Magistrate (Land Acquisition) in Gautam Buddh Nagar, he played a critical role in tackling a high-profile case in 2004 involving an alleged ₹3,000-crore land acquisition scam. The case garnered nationwide attention, and Singh was credited with initiating stringent legal action, which resulted in prolonged hearings in the Supreme Court.

YEIDA faces the challenge of rapidly operationalizing the Jewar Airport and executing multi-crore development projects. Singh’s experience in handling complex land-related issues is expected to be an asset in overcoming these challenges.

Officials said his track record of efficient decision-making and commitment to transparency were key reasons for his appointment to these crucial positions.
