Strict Notices Yield Results: 1,750 Lift Operators Register Under Lift Act in Ghaziabad

Following the issuance of strict notices and the implementation of the Lift Act, a total of 1,750 institutions in Ghaziabad, including societies, schools, and industries, have now completed the mandatory registration of their lifts.

The Lift Act, which came into force in December 2024, mandates registration for all functional lifts. After multiple reminders and notices issued by the Electricity Safety Directorate, there has been a visible increase in compliance. According to official data, within just a few weeks of the portal being opened, over 1,750 entities have registered their lifts without any penalty or late fee.

The list of registered entities includes major real estate developers, schools, commercial complexes, and housing societies. These include Supertech, Mahagun, ATS, Gaurs, Assotech, Jaipuria Group, Aditya Urban Casa, GDA Housing, Orange Associates, and more.

As per Satyendra Kumar Singh, Assistant Director of Electrical Safety, the increasing number of registrations is a clear sign that the notices had a strong impact. He confirmed that more than five lift operators from various sectors have responded positively and completed their documentation in time.

The trend in registrations shows rapid progress:

  • 15 March – 93 registrations
  • 20 March – 115
  • 24 March – 140
  • 27 March – 258
  • 29 March – 480
  • 30 March – 767
  • 10 April – 1,415
  • 20 April – 1,750

The Lift Act portal was specifically launched to simplify the registration process for operators, ensuring safe lift usage across establishments. With awareness increasing and the government’s strict follow-up, more institutions are expected to register their lifts soon to avoid penalties.

The initiative aims to ensure public safety and operational accountability for all lifts in use across the district.
