Before Diwali, Yogi Government to Give a Gift: Employees to Receive Dearness Allowance and Bonus

 

In a significant move for around 20 lakh government employees and 8 lakh pensioners in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government is set to provide a Diwali gift in the form of an increased dearness allowance (DA) and bonus. Orders for this are expected next week.

The dearness allowance for employees is set to increase by 4% from July 2024 onwards. Apart from this, employees will also receive a bonus, expected to be equal to the previous year's amount. The decision to provide an additional DA and bonus is likely to benefit millions of government employees and pensioners in the state.

The percentage of the increase in the DA will be calculated based on inflation. With the new hike, employees and pensioners can expect relief during this festive season.
