Atal Residential Schools to Open in 57 Districts: Sarju Ram

Addl. Labour Commissioner Sarju Ram said that UP CM Yogi Aditynath announced that Atal Residential Schools, modelled after high-quality residential education facilities, will be established in 57 districts across Uttar Pradesh. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the academic session at one such school in Mohanlal Ganj. Initially, 18 schools have started their academic sessions, with plans to expand the initiative to 57 districts in subsequent phases.

These Atal Residential Schools aim to provide quality education to children from underprivileged backgrounds, particularly those whose parents were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Each school will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and will follow the CBSE curriculum, ensuring that students receive education on par with the best private institutions in the country.

Key Features of Atal Residential Schools:

  • Student Capacity: Each school will accommodate 350 students, providing them with a conducive learning environment and modern amenities.
  • Free Education: The government will bear the full cost of education, boarding, and other necessary expenses for the students.
  • Holistic Development: The curriculum is designed to focus not only on academics but also on extracurricular activities, sports, and skill development to ensure the all-round development of students.
  • Infrastructure: The schools are equipped with advanced infrastructure, including digital classrooms, libraries, science labs, and computer labs to enhance the learning experience.

Sarju Ram further Said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that the establishment of these schools is a significant step towards fulfilling the vision of providing quality education to all children, irrespective of their socio-economic background. He also mentioned that these schools would play a crucial role in building a knowledgeable and skilled future generation for the state.

The initiative reflects the government's commitment to education and its efforts to provide equal opportunities for students across Uttar Pradesh. The Atal Residential Schools are named in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and aim to embody his vision of inclusive and accessible education for all.
