Dr. Praveen Ranjan Appointed Additional Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddh Nagar

In a significant reshuffle within the Uttar Pradesh Police Department, Dr. Praveen Ranjan has been appointed as the Additional Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate. The appointment comes as part of a broader transfer and posting order involving 48 senior police officers.

The transfer list was approved by the Director General of Police (DGP), Headquarters, who has reassigned Dr. Ranjan, an experienced IPS officer, to this important administrative post. Prior to this, he had been under suspension since February last year. After the completion of an inquiry, he has now been reinstated.

Dr. Ranjan’s new appointment fills the position left vacant after IPS officer Rahul Srivastava was transferred. Srivastava had been serving as Additional Commissioner and has now been given new responsibilities.

Meanwhile, IPS officer Alok Singh, who had been posted as Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddh Nagar, was recently relieved of the post and transferred to another role. Before that, Laxmi Singh served in this position and made history as the first female police commissioner of the district.

The reshuffle also includes the transfer of several other senior officers, and the police department is expected to release further details soon regarding the new roles assigned to the remaining officers.
