“Era of All-Round Achievements”: Amit Shah Hails Modi’s Tenure as a Golden Period of Public Service

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance as a “golden era of comprehensive achievements”, attributing it to the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment to public service and national progress.

At a press conference held at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Amit Shah reviewed the past 10 years of the Modi government, stating that since 2014, the administration has set new benchmarks in governance, welfare delivery, national security, economic development, and global diplomacy.

“2014 to 2024: A Transformative Decade”

Shah highlighted that the last decade marked a significant transformation across sectors—from infrastructure, digital India, defence modernization, and social justice, to women empowerment, tribal upliftment, and enhanced border security. He praised Modi’s leadership for eradicating the culture of appeasement, corruption, and policy paralysis.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh added that under Modi, India witnessed unprecedented national pride, robust strategic positioning, and stronger institutions. He described Modi’s approach as “decisive and inclusive”, which helped restore the people's faith in democratic governance.

Nadda Slams Opposition’s “Politics of Privilege”

BJP President J.P. Nadda, also present at the press briefing, criticized previous governments, especially the Congress party, for prioritizing dynastic politics and power preservation over national interest. “The country suffered due to the politics of entitlement. Modi replaced it with the politics of performance and accountability,” Nadda stated.

He noted that Modi’s tenure saw policies aimed at ensuring last-mile delivery, digital transparency, and the dignity of the poor, citing the success of schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and PM Awas Yojana.

Rajnath Singh on Democratic Institutions

Singh emphasized that the Modi government has respected and empowered constitutional institutions, contrary to the opposition's claims. He pointed out that the conduct of free and fair elections, smooth functioning of the Parliament, and reforms in bureaucracy are strong indicators of democratic deepening under the BJP.

Congress Targeted Over CDS Appointments

Responding to criticism regarding appointments in the armed forces, BJP leaders alleged that under Congress, appointments to key positions like CDS (Chief of Defence Staff) were often delayed or politicized. “Under Modi, decisions are taken in national interest, not for political convenience,” the leaders asserted.
