FCRA Registration Can Also Be Revoked in These Situations
• If an NGO is not actively conducting any activities currently, and if, during field investigations, it is found that the claimed activities were incorrectly reported, or if the NGO has not spent any funds on its operations for 2-3 years, the FCRA registration of such an NGO can be cancelled.
• If an NGO fails to respond to requests for clarifications on discrepancies, does not provide requested information, or does not submit required documentation even after repeated opportunities, its FCRA registration can be revoked.
• If an NGO is found to be misusing foreign funds for personal gain, engaging in inappropriate activities, having links with terrorist organizations or anti-national entities, or otherwise violating the national interest, the registration of such an NGO can be cancelled.
• If the investigative agencies report that an NGO is involved in activities that conflict with national security, social harmony, or any aspect of public interest, or if it is found associating with organizations that threaten the national interest, such an NGO’s FCRA registration may also be revoked.
