First Aircraft Lands at Gautam Buddha Nagar’s Soil: A Milestone


A historic event unfolded on Monday in Gautam Buddha Nagar as the first trial landing was successfully conducted at the upcoming Jewar International Airport. Officials hailed this moment as a milestone, claiming that the Jewar Airport is poised to become one of the best in the world. The airport is now ready for flight operations, which are expected to commence in April next year.


Key Highlights of the Airport Project
1.    World-Class Infrastructure:
o    Inaugurated in November 2021, the Jewar Airport aims to redefine global aviation standards.
o    The first phase involves constructing one terminal and a runway, designed to handle large-scale passenger volumes.
2.    Capacity and Facilities:
o    Passenger Capacity: Up to 1334 crore passengers annually after the completion of all phases.
o    Runway Features: Equipped with 40 ATC (Air Traffic Control) towers and 12 boarding bridges for seamless operations.
3.    Construction Progress:
o    Massive efforts have been underway since 2014, with over 25 key agreements signed to bring this ambitious project to life.
o    State-of-the-art security, baggage systems, and passenger amenities are under implementation to ensure a premium experience.
