Hyundai Motor India Boosts EV Infrastructure with 600 New Charging Stations

Hyundai Motor India has announced a significant expansion in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, planning to install 600 public EV fast charging stations across India over the next seven years. This initiative aims to enhance the country’s EV infrastructure and support adopting cleaner transportation technologies.
By the end of December 2024, Hyundai aims to have established 50 fast public charging stations, marking a crucial step in the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility. This move is part of Hyundai's broader strategy to support India's transition towards cleaner energy sources and alleviate range anxiety among EV users, particularly for long-distance highway travel.
Jae Wan Ryu, the head of corporate planning at Hyundai Motor India, highlighted the growth potential of the EV market in India, projecting significant expansion by 2030. Research conducted by Hyundai has identified that one of the major hurdles to EV adoption is the concern over insufficient charging infrastructure, which the company aims to address with this new initiative.
This ambitious project aligns with global environmental goals and caters to the increasing demand for EVs in India, fostering a more sustainable and eco-friendly transportation ecosystem. With these efforts, Hyundai Motor India is set to play a pivotal role in transforming India’s automotive landscape.
