India Joins the Elite Group of Countries with Successful Testing of Hypersonic Missile

The World Witnesses India’s Strength
• 1,500 km striking capability
• Speed of 6,200 km/h, five times the speed of sound
Odisha’s coast becomes the launch site for this historic achievement.
India achieved a significant milestone with the successful testing of its first hypersonic missile, joining the elite group of nations with this capability. This hypersonic missile can strike a target up to 1,500 kilometres away at a speed five times greater than sound. With its advanced technology, it can carry multiple explosive materials.
The test, conducted from Odisha's coast under scientific and defence supervision, signifies a leap in India's defence preparedness. The missile, which can change targets even after launch, cannot be tracked by radar, adding a strategic advantage.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex:
At Hyderabad's renowned missile complex, scientists and defence experts worked extensively to design and develop the missile. The missile is equipped to hit the target with unprecedented accuracy.
Significance of the Achievement:
• Enhances India’s position as a defence power.
• India becomes one of the few nations in the world with hypersonic missile technology.
• Strengthens India’s deterrence against adversaries.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the scientists, calling this development an important milestone for India's defence capabilities.
