India on Track to Become $5 Trillion Economy by 2027: Piyush Goyal
Despite global economic challenges, India is steadily progressing towards becoming a $5 trillion economy by 2027, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said.
Speaking at an interactive session organized by the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Goyal credited collective national efforts and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong leadership for India’s sustained economic momentum.
He noted that the government’s reforms in banking, taxation, and regulatory frameworks have created a robust foundation for growth.
“We are moving forward with determination to achieve the $5 trillion economy goal in the next three years,” Goyal said. “This milestone will mark the first step in realizing the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).”
The minister emphasized that structural changes undertaken over the last decade have transformed India’s business environment and positioned the country as a global growth engine.
