India to Develop AI Model Superior to Deep Seek Within a Year


Six Companies Collaborate with the Government for Model Development
India is set to develop its own AI model within the next 8–10 months, which is expected to be more advanced than China's DeepSeek. This initiative will be supported by the Government of India, in collaboration with six leading technology companies.


AI Model Development in India
•    The Indian AI Mission will be based on a 15,000 GPU computing cluster, with plans to scale up to 25,000 GPUs.
•    This will enable the training and development of advanced AI models within the country.
•    The project will focus on multi-modal AI systems, integrating natural language processing, computer vision, and generative AI.

•    The government will provide 40% funding to all companies involved in this initiative.
•    AI computing facilities will be made available to all startups and enterprises to accelerate India's AI ecosystem.
•    The India AI Mission already has 10,000 GPUs available for immediate use.


India to Evaluate DeepSeek on Its Own Servers
•    The Ministry of Electronics and IT is conducting an in-depth evaluation of DeepSeek, the Chinese AI model, to assess its capabilities and identify areas for improvement in India's model.
•    Unlike DeepSeek, India's AI model will be built with robust security and compliance measures.
•    The Indian AI ecosystem will also include a comprehensive AI governance framework to ensure responsible AI usage.


India’s Entry into the AI Race with $10 Billion Investment
•    Globally, AI investments have surged, with leading players like OpenAI, Google, and China investing billions in AI research.
•    India aims to invest over ₹10,371 crore ($10 billion) in AI research and development.
•    The goal is to create a high-performance AI model that can compete with global AI giants.
