Industrial Growth Provides Employment to 8.5 Lakh Youths
Over the past four years, Ghaziabad has seen substantial industrial growth, resulting in employment opportunities for around 8.5 lakh youths. The engineering, machinery goods, and garment sectors have witnessed the highest number of new industries, driving the economic development of the region. This industrial expansion has also attracted investments worth ₹22,000 crore, significantly boosting the local economy.
According to official data, 39,893 new industries were established in the district between 2020 and 2024, creating 8,52,657 jobs. In the financial year 2020-21 alone, 16,969 new industries provided employment to 1,78,739 individuals. This number has steadily increased over the years, with 33,397 industries established in 2022-23 employing 3,05,080 people. The growth in industries has been particularly pronounced in sectors like electronics, engineering, and textiles, which have seen up to sevenfold increases in industrial activity.
Local authorities, including the District Magistrate and industrial associations, attribute this growth to the government's supportive policies and infrastructure improvements, which have made Ghaziabad a preferred destination for new businesses. The availability of better facilities and conducive business environment have encouraged more entrepreneurs to set up operations in the district.
The rapid industrial growth in Ghaziabad reflects a broader trend of economic development across the region, highlighting the importance of government support in fostering a thriving industrial sector. The district's success serves as a model for other regions looking to boost employment and attract investment through industrial expansion.
