Israel to Use Kanpur-Made Shells Against Enemies

The advanced technology and superior hardware quality of shells manufactured by the Ordnance Factory in Kanpur (OFC) have gained the trust of European and Middle Eastern countries. As a testament to this trust, Israel is set to deploy these Kanpur-made shells in its defence arsenal.
The factory has received an order to produce shells for Israel's D-30 artillery guns. These shells boast a striking range of 15 to 50 kilometres. Rajesh Chaudhary, CMD of Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), highlighted the successful development of 122 mm shells and their upgraded variants for this purpose.
AWEIL’s robotic manufacturing plant in Kanpur is a hub for producing state-of-the-art ammunition ranging from 105 mm to 155 mm calibres. These advanced shells are rigorously tested to ensure unmatched quality, with no defects reported in their testing phase. Notably, the factory produces shells with high accuracy and precision, with capabilities to manufacture up to 200,000 units annually.
The confidence in Kanpur’s ordnance manufacturing has led to increased export orders from European and Middle Eastern nations. So far, export deals worth ₹650 crores have been finalised, with an additional tendering process for orders worth crores underway.
By combining cutting-edge technology with robotic processes, Kanpur has cemented its position as a key player in the global defence industry, boosting India’s reputation as a reliable supplier of advanced weaponry.
