Mandatory Biometric Update for Children to Be Done Directly at 12 Aadhaar Seva Kendras
In a significant relief for parents, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced that biometric updates for children aged 5 to 15 years can now be done directly at 12 selected Aadhaar Seva Kendras in Uttar Pradesh, without the need for prior online appointment booking.
This facility will be available Monday to Friday from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays, at specific centers. Parents can now walk in with their children to get the mandatory biometric updates done, ensuring Aadhaar data remains current and valid.
Key Centers Offering Direct Biometric Update Services:
- Ghaziabad: Panchvati Colony, Sector 5
- Greater Noida: Galaxy Blue Saffron Plaza
- Lucknow: Ratan Square
- Kanpur: Near Heer Palace
- Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bareilly, Gonda: Civil Lines-based Aadhaar Seva Kendras
- Meerut: Union Bank, Delhi Road
- Prayagraj: Civil Lines Regional Aadhaar Office
This initiative, supervised by UIDAI’s Regional Office, aims to simplify and speed up the biometric updating process, especially for children who need to update Aadhaar data at ages 5 and 15.
Separate machines have been designated at these centers specifically for children’s updates to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience. Additionally, the general public can continue using the UIDAI appointment portal for Aadhaar-related services.
Officials clarified that the update is mandatory for all children in the 5–15 year age group, and failure to update may lead to deactivation or Aadhaar not being accepted in future verification processes.
