With the rapid growth of the Indian economy, people's income is also rising. Simultaneously, the number of people earning more than ₹10 crore annually is also increasing. According to a report by the Standard Institutional Research, the number of people earning ₹10 crore annually in the country has increased by 63%, reaching 31,800 individuals.

Increase in the Number of High Earners

  • 60% increase in people earning more than ₹50 lakh annually in the last 5 years.
  • 58,200 people in the country now earn more than ₹5 crore annually.
  • 106% growth in the combined income of people earning more than ₹5 crore annually.
  • ₹38 lakh crore is the total income of those earning more than ₹10 crore annually.

49% Increase in Individuals Earning More Than ₹5 Crore Annually
The number of individuals earning more than ₹5 crore has increased by 49%.

Growing Income Categories

  • 10 lakh people now earn between ₹50 lakh to ₹1 crore annually.
  • ₹10 crore earners have seen a 121% increase in total income.
  • Total wealth of people earning more than ₹10 crore stands at ₹40 lakh crore.

Only 15% of High Earners Manage Their Financial Assets Professionally
The report highlights that only 15% of the country’s high-income earners professionally manage their wealth, whereas in developed countries, 75% of financial assets are managed by professionals.
