Preparations Underway for New Film City in Greater Noida

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is set to begin work on an international film city in Sector-21. The layout for the project, spanning 230 acres in the first phase, is expected to be finalized by December. Construction will commence after obtaining the necessary approvals from the authorities.
Key Features of the Project
• Area Allocation:
o Film-related facilities: 135 acres.
o Film institutions: 20 acres.
o Commercial activities: 75 acres.
• The first phase includes a comprehensive development of 230 acres, with an additional 670 acres planned for future expansion.
Proposed Expenditure
• Film-related infrastructure: ₹832.91 crore.
• Studios and associated facilities: ₹373.93 crore.
• Service accommodations: ₹315.07 crore.
Actor and Crew Amenities
Special provisions will be made for actors and crew members, including dedicated rest areas, ensuring they won't need to stay at hotels during shoots. The film city will be located just three kilometres from the Yamuna Expressway, providing easy access for visitors and film professionals.
Tourism and Entertainment
The film city will feature Disneyland-style attractions and amusement parks to cater to tourists. Shopping centres and other recreational facilities will also be included, making it a hub of entertainment and leisure.
A New Hub for Indian Cinema
According to officials, the film city will host state-of-the-art studios, outdoor shooting spaces, and advanced production facilities. With a capacity to host multiple film shoots simultaneously, the project is expected to elevate India’s film industry to international standards.
