Regular Flights from Jewar Airport to Begin in April: Naidu

The much-anticipated Noida International Airport in Jewar, near the national capital, is set to commence regular flight operations from April. The government shared this update in Parliament on Monday.
Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu stated during the question hour that airlines are eager to start operations from the new airport, which will enhance global connectivity. He emphasized that Jewar Airport is emerging as one of the largest airports in India and Asia.
The minister also highlighted that a trial flight had already taken off from the airport in December as part of its testing phase. Assuring that everything is progressing as per schedule, he said, “By April, regular flights will begin operations from Jewar-Noida International Airport.”
Naidu further mentioned that airlines like Air India and IndiGo are particularly enthusiastic about establishing connectivity from this airport. He also pointed out that its location next to the Noida Expressway makes it a strategic hub, with plans to enhance road connectivity soon.
The minister reiterated that the government is actively working on launching 100 new airports across the country to strengthen India’s aviation infrastructure.
