The Heavier the File, the Faster It Moves: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized the need for transparency and prompt decision-making processes. He said, "If a knowledgeable person does not understand the purpose behind the law, then what is the use?" While addressing an event organized at College of Engineering in Pune on Engineers Day, Gadkari remarked, "There are many instances where you need orders to fill potholes on roads. I won’t comment much on that now, but once money is involved, work begins immediately, and it moves very quickly. Here, we follow the principle of Newton— the heavier the file, the faster it moves. That’s why there is a need for transparent and well-structured decision-making processes."

The Minister of Road Transport and Highways further added, "Many bureaucrats hold files for three to four months. I prefer honest people who can get the work done." Gadkari highlighted that good governance, transparency, and teamwork make leadership easier. He pointed out that research and technology are essential but emphasized that efficient governance and transparent decision-making are equally important.

Gadkari also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for starting the Nagpur-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express. He addressed a ceremony on flagging off the Vande Bharat Express from Nagpur to Secunderabad.
