Trade Show: Changing and Developing Uttar Pradesh's Story Explained Through Models
At the India Expo Center and Mart, various government departments have set up models that narrate the transforming and evolving story of Uttar Pradesh. These models are drawing attention from visitors, who are appreciating the efforts made to showcase the state's progress.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, visited the trade show and praised the presentations. Models of various projects have been displayed at the event, including the "Har Ghar Jal" (Water to Every Home) initiative. A 438-square meter model shows the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission, which highlights the journey of providing water and cleanliness to rural areas after independence. Other models showcase efforts in areas such as primary education, healthcare, sanitation, and the overall lifestyle improvement for citizens.
The show also features models from different government departments like Industry, Energy, Civil Aviation, Smart Cities, and more. Some notable participants include Noida International Airport, Film City, Mega Leather Cluster, and other flagship projects expected to be completed by 2025.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the importance of these displays in showcasing the state's progress to international visitors.
The Heritage of 75 Districts of Uttar Pradesh to Reach 80 Countries Worldwide
The heritage and cultural richness of all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh will be showcased across 80 countries through the UP International Trade Show. Foreign visitors will not only get a taste of local delicacies like jaggery but will also experience traditional Indian and ethnic products. Women artisans will present their handicrafts, while the resonating sound of "Baithak Dhun" from Amroha's brass instruments will captivate international audiences. Additionally, Banda's Shazar stones, famed for their delicate carvings, will be displayed as jewellery pieces on the fingers of attendees.
The trade show, held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, started on Wednesday with the collaboration of various industry associations. All 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh are participating, with each district showcasing a unique product under the "One District, One Product" scheme. The expo includes participation from international delegates and buyers from countries like Kazakhstan, Brazil, Venezuela, and many others.
The exhibition features various types of traditional items such as brassware from Moradabad, wooden products from Saharanpur, perfumes from Kannauj, and Zari work from Varanasi, making it a hub of cultural artifacts. The exhibition will have booths representing art forms like glassware, musical instruments, and regional specialties.
In addition, Amroha's "Baithak Dhun" (a type of instrumental music) and "Dholak" (a traditional drum) are attracting considerable attention from visitors. The stall managers noted that the vibrant cultural presentations at the UP pavilion are leaving a lasting impression on attendees.
Various other displays include handmade products, new technological innovations, and lifestyle-related items such as clothing, textiles, carpets, and wooden handicrafts. The diversity in the exhibition is drawing interest not only from domestic visitors but also from foreign delegates.
The response to the "One District, One Product" initiative has been overwhelming, with many of the showcased items being appreciated by international buyers. The intricate craftsmanship of brass products, wooden sculptures, and perfumery items is particularly popular. Each stall is showcasing the best of its district's offerings, providing visitors with a glimpse of the state's rich heritage and cultural legacy.
The stall of Banda district, exhibiting the Shazar stones, was a particular highlight. With delicate engravings and jewellery designs, the products attracted significant interest from foreign buyers, reflecting the growing global demand for unique handicrafts from Uttar Pradesh.
Gunjan’s Success Story of the Group
On the very first day of the trade show, Gunjan’s stall from Ambedkar Nagar attracted a huge crowd. Everyone appreciated her pizzas. Gunjan shared that her husband used to work at a hotel, but he lost his job during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gunjan borrowed ₹10,000 from a self-help group and bought a machine to start a pizza business. Once her business started doing well, she borrowed another ₹50,000, and later ₹1 lakh, to purchase a larger machine. This allowed her to expand her business significantly.
Women Feel Safe and Secure
In Banaras, women are running handicraft businesses. They mentioned that corruption has been eradicated under the Yogi regime, and the legal system has improved. Despite being women, they never feel scared. The government is connecting women with safety, respect, and self-reliance, encouraging them to be part of the economic fabric of the state.
Message of Water Conservation
The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show held at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida showcased a stall on water conservation, spreading awareness about water preservation and the "Jal Jeevan Mission". A model on the same was displayed at the stall.
