All Industrial Areas Exempt from Double Tax
Decision Taken for 34 More Areas in UPSEIDA Board Meeting

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSEIDA) has granted exemption from double taxation to industries in all its 154 industrial areas. The decision was announced by UPSEIDA's Chief Executive Officer, Manoj Kumar Singh, during the 47th board meeting, where exemptions were also extended to an additional 34 industrial areas.
Previously, industrial units located outside municipal limits were required to pay double taxes under the Town Development Act. With this exemption, industries in these 120 industrial zones will now receive the benefit of single taxation, facilitating their operations and development. Additionally, efforts are underway to streamline operations in other industrial areas to encourage investment and industrial growth.
Key Decisions:
•    Bara Banki Project Approved: The project for consolidated land allocation in Bara Banki has been approved.
o    Specific approvals were granted for areas including Bara Banki (69.86 acres), Prayagraj (175 acres), Banda (90 acres), and Buland Shahr (57 acres) under the simplified land allotment policy.
Projects Approved in Prayagraj and Agra
•    High-tech cities in Prayagraj (1138.78 acres) and Agra (1058.14 acres) have been approved under central government initiatives. For establishing semiconductor and display manufacturing units, approvals were granted to organizations like SEPCO.
In addition, essential road infrastructure projects have been sanctioned, which include:
•    Construction of a 78.46-acre road in ORS Village.
•    Road development in Kanpur Nagar, Sone Bhadra, and Mainpuri, covering a cumulative area of 130.40 acres for ease of transportation.
•    Approvals for Housing Projects: Housing projects in Patna and Gorakhpur for IT and electronics industries have been approved. These projects will span over 180 acres.
This decision by the Uttar Pradesh government to exempt industrial areas from double taxation is expected to promote industrial expansion, enhance infrastructure, and facilitate smoother business operations across various regions.
