Government to Receive ₹400 Crore GST from Shriram Temple Construction
Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Shriram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, announced that the government will receive ₹400 crore as GST from the construction of the Shriram Temple in Ayodhya. He mentioned this during a civic felicitation ceremony held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday.
Rai explained that all payments for materials used in the temple's construction have been made, and every transaction has adhered to the required GST norms, resulting in significant revenue for the government.
He further noted that the Trust conducted a 42-day nationwide donation campaign for the temple construction, which saw contributions from 10 crore people amounting to ₹2,800 crore. He highlighted that even the Indian government made a symbolic contribution of one rupee to the Trust, which has been framed and preserved as a mark of respect.
Additionally, Rai emphasized that payments for all construction materials, from stones sourced from Rajasthan to wood from Maharashtra, have been fully settled. This meticulous adherence to financial protocols underscores the Trust’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the temple's construction process.
