On the same evening, 35 citizens were conferred with the Har Nandi Prahari Samman (Guardian of the River Award).

Awardees included:

  • Environmental lawyers Akash Vashisht and Sudip Sahu

  • GIS analyst Dr. Umar Saif

  • Women composting champions from Muradnagar

  • Teachers who incorporated river studies into their curriculum

  • Journalists who exposed encroachment rackets

  • Villagers from Baraut who voluntarily cleaned river stretches

Their stories, read aloud during the felicitation, inspired the audience to realize that activism begins at home.
