Har Nandi Prahari Samman – Honouring the Unsung
On the same evening, 35 citizens were conferred with the Har Nandi Prahari Samman (Guardian of the River Award).
Awardees included:
- Environmental lawyers Akash Vashisht and Sudip Sahu
- GIS analyst Dr. Umar Saif
- Women composting champions from Muradnagar
- Teachers who incorporated river studies into their curriculum
- Journalists who exposed encroachment rackets
- Villagers from Baraut who voluntarily cleaned river stretches
Their stories, read aloud during the felicitation, inspired the audience to realize that activism begins at home.
Submitting the Vision – Public to Policy
On April 17, a team from Utthan Samiti formally handed over the White Paper to the District Magistrate of Ghaziabad. The dossier was also submitted digitally to:
- Chief Minister’s Office, Lucknow
- Ministry of Jal Shakti
- Central Pollution Control Board
- Ganga Rejuvenation Cell
- Yamuna Monitoring Authority
“We’ve moved from despair to design,” said Satendra Singh. “Now we need duty.”
