Noida Authority Clears Encroachment in Hindon Floodplain; 120 Bighas of Land Freed

In a major operation, the Noida Authority has reclaimed approximately 120 bighas of encroached land in the floodplain of the Hindon River. The estimated value of the cleared land is over ₹150 crore.
The anti-encroachment drive, launched against illegal farmhouses and unauthorized constructions along the Yamuna and Hindon rivers, began on Wednesday and targeted land submerged within the Hindon floodplain.
Massive Operation with Multiple Departments
The operation was executed by the Noida Authority in collaboration with the police department, revenue officials, and a special combined task force. A team of 250 personnel, including senior officers and demolition squads, was deployed with bulldozers to carry out the demolition of illegal structures.
The campaign was intensified in response to reports of repeated encroachments in the flood zone. The reclaimed land spans several villages and plots located in Bahlolpur village, Dadri tehsil, and Greater Noida sectors 224, 230, 231, 232, 346, and adjacent areas.
During the operation, walls, boundary fences, and temporary buildings constructed illegally in these areas were demolished. The cost of the cleared land is estimated at ₹150 crore, making it one of the largest such anti-encroachment drives in recent times.
Officials Speak
Officials confirmed that this operation was essential to maintain the ecological balance and prevent flood-related disasters. Local encroachers had been warned earlier, but failed to remove illegal structures, prompting the Authority to act decisively.
