Priority for GSCC in Financial Assistance for Providing Jobs to Youth

The state government has decided to provide financial assistance to Global Skill Capability Centres (GSCC) to encourage them to offer employment to youth. Under this initiative, the government will reimburse up to ₹60 crore in wages for young professionals employed in these centres. The assistance will be provided based on a wage subsidy model (Pay-as-you-go) for companies providing internships and employment opportunities to local students.

According to the new GSCC Policy 2024, the government will establish GSCCs in various sectors such as electronics, security, data processing, logistics, and warehousing. These centres will work to create job-ready professionals for companies.

Benefits for Companies and Students

Companies that provide internships or recruit students from these centres will be eligible for financial assistance for up to three years. In the first year, companies will receive ₹20,000 per month for each intern or employee hired. The assistance will be reduced gradually over the next two years, ensuring that the companies continue to support job creation.

Additional Support for Students

The new policy also includes provisions for students, ensuring they receive specialized training and access to internships. This will enhance their employability and allow them to gain practical experience while studying. The aim is to bridge the gap between education and industry requirements, making students industry ready.

Enhancing Agriculture and Basic Infrastructure with IFCI Support
