Sewage Flow from 13 Villages to Hindon River to Be Stopped
In a major step toward rejuvenating the Hindon River, authorities have begun work to stop the discharge of sewage from 13 surrounding villages into the river. The move is part of the ongoing river conservation and pollution control initiative led by the local administration and Panchayati Raj Department.
According to the new plan, drainage construction is underway to divert the dirty water coming from village households so that it no longer reaches the Hindon River. This redirection will prevent direct contamination and help in improving the water quality of the river.
Officials from the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department have jointly prepared a detailed plan to build proper waste water outlets and treatment channels for these villages. This decision has been welcomed by environmental groups who have long raised concerns about untreated sewage flowing into the Hindon.
List of the 13 Villages:
- Sikrori
- Sadarpur
- Narayanpur
- Kachera Varsabad
- Nagla Gujar
- Mirzapur
- Ator Nangla
- Madhopur
- Girdharpur
- Asalatnagar
- Morta
- Dasna
- Bhaneda
Authorities are optimistic that by preventing dirty water from these villages from entering the Hindon, the river’s natural flow and ecology can be gradually restored. Further steps including sewage treatment infrastructure, awareness programs, and strict monitoring are also expected to be rolled out in the next phase.
